🔹 Section B (Marks: 26) – Attempt Any 13 Parts

Q2 (i) What is Force?

English: Force is a push or pull acting upon an object that causes it to move or stop. Its unit is Newton (N).
Roman Urdu: Force aik aesi taqat hai jo kisi cheez ko dhakelti ya kheenchti hai jisse woh hilti ya rukti hai. Iski unit Newton hai.


(ii) Differentiate between mass and weight.

English:

  • Mass is the amount of matter in a body and is measured in kilograms (kg).

  • Weight is the force with which gravity pulls a body and is measured in newtons (N).
    Roman Urdu:

  • Mass aik jism ka madah hota hai, iski unit kilogram hai.

  • Weight zameen ki gravity ka asar hota hai jo kisi jism ko neeche kheenchta hai, iski unit Newton hai.


(iii) What is Density? Also write its unit.

English: Density is the mass per unit volume of a substance. Its unit is kg/m³.
Roman Urdu: Density ka matlab hai kisi madah ka aik unit volume mein mass. Iski unit kg/m³ hai.


(iv) What is Pressure?

English: Pressure is the force applied per unit area. Its unit is Pascal (Pa).
Roman Urdu: Pressure ka matlab hai aik specific area par lagayi gayi force. Iski unit Pascal hai.


(v) Convert 98.6°F into Celsius scale.

English:
Formula: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
°C = (98.6 − 32) × 5/9 = 37°C
Roman Urdu:
Formula: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
°C = (98.6 − 32) × 5/9 = 37°C


(vi) Define Transparent, Translucent, and Opaque Objects.

English:

  • Transparent: Allow all light (e.g., glass)

  • Translucent: Allow some light (e.g., frosted glass)

  • Opaque: Allow no light (e.g., wood)
    Roman Urdu:

  • Transparent: Jo poori roshni guzarne dein (jaise sheesha)

  • Translucent: Thodi roshni guzarne dein (jaise dhundla glass)

  • Opaque: Roshni guzarne na dein (jaise lakri)


(vii) Define frequency and wavelength and write their units.

English:

  • Frequency is the number of waves per second (Unit: Hertz – Hz)

  • Wavelength is the distance between two crests (Unit: meter – m)
    Roman Urdu:

  • Frequency aik second mein kitni waves guzarti hain (Unit: Hz)

  • Wavelength do lehron ke darmiyan ka faasla (Unit: meter)


(viii) What is Static Electricity?

English: Static electricity is the imbalance of electric charges on the surface of an object.
Roman Urdu: Static electricity woh bijli hai jo kisi cheez ki satah par jama ho jaati hai.


(ix) Write the relation between potential difference, current, and resistance.

English:
Ohm’s Law: V = I × R
(V = voltage, I = current, R = resistance)
Roman Urdu:
Ohm’s Law: V = I × R
Jahan V hai voltage, I hai current, R hai resistance


(x) Differentiate element, mixture, and compound.

English:

  • Element: Pure substance with one type of atom

  • Mixture: Two or more substances mixed, not chemically combined

  • Compound: Chemically combined substances
    Roman Urdu:

  • Element: Aik hi type ka atom hota hai

  • Mixture: Do ya zyada cheezein mila kar bina chemical taur par combine kiye

  • Compound: Cheezein chemically combine hoti hain


(xi) Enlist 6 chemicals and their chemical formulae.

English:

  1. Water – H₂O

  2. Carbon dioxide – CO₂

  3. Oxygen – O₂

  4. Sodium chloride – NaCl

  5. Glucose – C₆H₁₂O₆

  6. Ammonia – NH₃
    Roman Urdu:

  7. Pani – H₂O

(xii) Write a short note on ‘Need of Water for Human Body’.

English: Water helps in digestion, circulation, and removing waste from the body.
Roman Urdu: Pani hazme, khoon ke gardish aur body se zehr nikalne mein madad karta hai.


(xiii) Write physical and chemical properties of acids.

English:

  • Physical: Sour taste, turns blue litmus red

  • Chemical: Reacts with bases and metals
    Roman Urdu:

  • Physical: Khatta taste, blue litmus ko red karta hai

  • Chemical: Base aur metals ke sath react karta hai


(xiv) Write a short note on pH scale.

English: pH scale measures the acidity or alkalinity of a solution, ranging from 0 to 14.
Roman Urdu: pH scale aik solution ki acid ya base hone ki scale hai, jiska range 0 se 14 hota hai.


(xv) Enlist importance of ions in the human body.

English: Ions help in nerve function, muscle contraction, and fluid balance.
Roman Urdu: Ions nerves ke kaam, pathon ke sikudne aur body fluids ko balance rakhne mein madad karte hain.


(xvi) What is radioactivity?

English: Radioactivity is the emission of radiation from unstable atomic nuclei.
Roman Urdu: Radioactivity woh process hai jahan unstable atom radiation nikalta hai.


(xvii) Write physiologically active proteins.

English: Enzymes, hormones, and antibodies are active proteins in the body.
Roman Urdu: Enzymes, hormones aur antibodies body mein physiological activity karti hain.

Q3. Write a detailed note on atomic structure.

English:
Atom is the smallest unit of matter. It consists of:

  • Protons (+): Positive charge, present in nucleus

  • Neutrons (0): No charge, present in nucleus

  • Electrons (-): Negative charge, orbit around nucleus
    Atoms combine to form molecules. Atomic number = protons; Mass number = protons + neutrons.

Roman Urdu:
Atom madah ka sab se chhota hissa hota hai. Yeh 3 parts se mil kar bana hota hai:

  • Proton (+): Positive charge wala, nucleus mein hota hai

  • Neutron (0): Koi charge nahi hota, nucleus mein hota hai

  • Electron (-): Negative charge wala, nucleus ke ird gird ghoomta hai
    Atoms mil kar molecule banate hain. Atomic number = protons; Mass number = protons + neutrons.


Q4. What is friction? Write advantages and disadvantages of friction.

English:
Friction is a force that opposes motion between two surfaces.
Advantages:

  • Helps in walking

  • Stops vehicles
    Disadvantages:

  • Wears out machine parts

  • Produces heat

Roman Urdu:
Friction woh force hai jo do cheezon ke darmiyan hilne ko rokta hai.
Faide:

  • Chalne mein madad

  • Gaari rokne mein madad
    Nuksan:

  • Machines ghis jaati hain

  • Heat produce hoti hai


Q5. Explain the characteristics of sound in detail.

English:
Sound is a wave that travels through air. Its characteristics:

  • Pitch: High or low sound

  • Loudness: Volume of sound

  • Frequency: Number of waves/sec

  • Wavelength: Distance between waves

  • Speed: Depends on medium

Roman Urdu:
Awaz aik lehr hai jo hawa ke zariye travel karti hai. Iski khasoosiyat:

  • Pitch: Awaz buland ya dheemi

  • Loudness: Awaz ki volume

  • Frequency: Aik second mein kitni lehrain

  • Wavelength: Do lehron ka faasla

  • Speed: Kis medium mein travel kar rahi hai
